Services About our EMS Staff Our EMS Staff consists of all levels of EMT: Basics, Intermediates, and Paramedics. Emergency Medical Technicians are licensed by the Office of Emergency Medical Services, a division of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, as are all EMT’s in the state. In addition to comprehensive initial training that includes many hours of classroom, clinical and field time, these EMT’s must go through Refresher Courses every 2 years and must take many more hours of Continuing Education yearly to keep up their skills and become expert in new ones. All EMT’s must remain current in other national certifications such as CPR and ACLS. About our Special Occasion Transports If given sufficient notice, Wood’s will transport to and/or from any special occasion or function via Medi-Van, Chair Car, or Ambulance. Usually this will be a private pay situation. These transports can be for long or short distances. Call us to make arrangements. About our Billing Staff Wood’s has it’s own in-house Billing Office and accepts all forms of Commercial Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Worker’s Compensation, and Private Pay. Our knowledgeable staff is available during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) to assist you in answering questions, or in working out a payment plan. About our Medi-Van Staff Wood’s has a staff of Medi-Van or Chair Car drivers who have many years of experience. Our drivers receive in-house orientation and training initially and on an ongoing basis. They are certified in CPR and First Aid and have been credentialed by Wood’s to work with the patient who uses oxygen constantly or who may need it while traveling. Our drivers live in this area and are well versed in the appropriate routes to take, as well as the current road conditions.
